I'm a wife, mom, and gestational surrogate. I've been blessed to be able to have 2 beautiful daughters of my own and 2 cute little surro babes for IPs. With the support of my WONDERFUL family and friends, I'm doing it again!! Follow me on my journey...

Baby L is 6 weeks old already!!

Yes, I'm still alive! ☺ After being on bedrest for 50 years, I kinda felt the need to run around and do random things just because I could and therefore I have neglected my blog. Sorry!
Anywho, can you believe Baby L is SIX WEEKS OLD already!? Man, time sure doesn't fly that fast when you actually want it to! He's doing well and gaining weight, he's up to 7lbs 6oz now, yay! I know his mommy & daddy are loving life with him and I absolutely LOVE getting pictures!

As for me, I went back to work on Dec 1st, boooo! I'm not gonna lie, it sucks to go back after being off for so long, but hey, at least I still have a job, right?
I'm still working on losing my pregnancy weight (blah!), I started doing Zumba about 3 weeks ago (soooo much fun!) and I'm playing soccer so hopefully it won't take too long to "bring sexy back", lol. I gotta be on a beach, sippin' margaritas in May! I would seriously like to know the celebrity's secrets. I mean really, have you seen Mariah? Perhaps the "secret" is called plastic surgery....
Emotionally, I'm doing well. The 1st week or so was a struggle. Not because I "gave up the baby", as some ding-dongs phrase it, but because the journey was "over". I think I was just afraid that my IPs would forget about me now that they had their baby and the thought of that made me sad because we had built a friendship and I didn't want to lose that. Of course, they never gave me a reason to even think that, but the mind is a powerful thing. Needless to say, they are just as wonderful as they were before and I get updates on Baby L all the time. We'll even be going to visit them after the holidays, yay!!
I think just about every surrogate gets asked "will you do it again?" and to answer honestly, I don't think I will. If it were just up to me and I didn't have to consider affecting others lives, then I'd say yes in a heartbeat! But it wasn't the easiest process for my husband and kids for me to be on bed rest. And so many other friends and family made adjustments to their lives in order for me to be able to complete this journey as well. I think the only way I'd do it again at this point is if Baby L wanted a sibling ☺, but that's a whole 'nother conversation to be had. For now, I'm focused on myself and my family and trying to make up for the time we couldn't do things.
Oh and just in case you think the hateful comments stop once you have the baby, think again! Here's a snippet of the convo I had with this hateful bitch at my job on my 1st day back:
Bitch: Oh, hi, Krystal. How are you feeling since you had the baby?
Me: I'm feeling great, just tryin to get back in the swing of things
Bitch: Well it looks like you've lost all your weight
Me: Not quite, but I'm working on it
Bitch: And how much did the baby weigh?
Me: He was 4lbs 9oz
Bitch: (With a wide-eyed look) What?! He was small! YOU certainly didn't look like he was gonna be a small baby!
Me: (holding my tongue) Well it was nice to see you again, I'm gonna go back to my office...
((What I really wanted to say was, "Fu** you bitch! What's ur fkn excuse for looking the way you do on a DAILY basis?!")) Ugh!

Anywho...I probably won't be updating much on here anymore, but I will certainly still check in on my blogger friends!
And here's a video I made to commemorate our journey together. I hope you enjoy it! ♥ Thank you all, again, for all of your support and encouraging words. XOXO

October 19, 2011 (37 weeks)...

...there's no belly pic this time, I have something better.
How about the cutest little guy you've ever seen?

Let's start from the beginning, shall we? (this will probably be a long post)

On Tuesday I had a regular OB appointment @ 10:30am. My BP was high again (136/94), then I got an ultrasound done to measure my amniotic fluid, check on baby's "practice breathing", and to measure his size. Then my Dr says "hmm". I'm thinking, "oh great, last time he said that, I ended up on bedrest!" I asked him why he said that and he just tells me that he needs to do a few more measurements...I had a feeling something was up.
When he got done he told me that the baby's growth had slowed down and was not equivalent to his gestation. Baby L was measuring in the 10th percentile, meaning that 90% of other babies at that gestation were bigger than him. No bueno. That, along with my continued high BPs and headaches did not make him feel comfortable with sending me home after that appointment. The Dr called my IM to tell her what was going on and off to L&D I went.

In L&D my dr had them run my labs and had radiology do another ultrasound just to make sure that his measurements were correct. The labs came back with slightly elevated liver enzymes and the ultrasound confirmed my dr's initial findings. I was told that it looked like they caught pre-eclampsia early and that I needed to deliver the baby before it got any worse for the both of us. Needless to say, I was in a little bit of shock. I certainly didn't go into my dr's appointment thinking that I'd be having the baby! I notified my IPs and they both left work and hit the road! I also called Kevin to let him know that he needed to get his butt to the hospital because I was alone and kinda scared.

The Dr checked my cervix, and of course I was barely dilated to 1cm (duh! my body wasn't ready to have the baby yet! ☺), so at 2:30p he gave me cytotec (a vaginal pill) to start softening my cervix. Kevin arrived, and then they moved me to a room around 5:50p. I was given another cytotec at 6:30pm because my cervix still hadn't softened and they couldn't start the actual induction (with pitocin) until I had dilated to at least 2cm.
So what's a girl to do that's waitin' around to dilate?
Call her BFF to come do her hair, of course! ☺ Don't hate.
So my friend, Elice, came by to flat iron my hair for me...not even 2 minutes into it, a loud alarm starts going off and we realize that it's the smoke alarm above my bed! It's blaring and beeping and within about 20 seconds there were 10 people running in the room...the doctor, nurses, housekeeping...once they realized what was going on, the Dr jumped up on my bed and put some tape over the sensor to stop the alarm! All I could do was die laughing. The looks on everyone's faces were was a bit embarrassing, but definitely memorable! And do you think it stopped me from getting the rest of my hair straightened? Nope! ☺ I just moved to a chair that wasn't directly under the smoke alarm ☺
I was not about to be lookin' like a hot mess....I know, "no one cares what you look like, you're in labor, blah, blah" But I CARE! Nothing else had gone as planned during this pregnancy, so I was determined that at least this part was gonna go my way!
Here's my hott mess hair before
Me & Elice after she fixed my afro, lol

So anywho...after that whole ordeal my IPs arrived around 8pm and my cervix was still trying to keep Baby L in, so the Dr gave me another cytotec at 10:30pm. That one finally did the trick! I started feeling some cramping at about 2:00am or so and had the nurse check me. I was dilated enough to start the pitocin (2cm)! The nurse gave me some nubain for pain and boy did that work! It actually had me kinda out of it for a while, so some of my memories are a little groggy, lol. Once the pitocin started (about 2:30) the contractions really began! They were dull at first, but then started to pick up. About an hour later I was at 4cm and the contractions were coming steady, but weren't unbearable. The nurse asked if I wanted an epidural and I figured I might as well get it then while I wasn't in too much pain.
The anesthesiologist came in and I could only have 1 person in the room with me while he did the epidural, so Kevin stayed while my IPs stepped out. The Dr prepped my back and was about to insert the needle and then I hear Kevin say "uh, nurse, I'm not feeling well"...he was holding my hand, but then all of a sudden he slowly went down to one knee and he says "can you call M&M in here for Krystal?" So here I am hunched over the side of the bed, having contractions, while my husband is now fully lying on the floor at the foot of my bed and the nurses are propping his head with pillows. So much for that epidural, lol. We had to wait for him to be okay before the Dr would finish my epi! It was quite a production, lol.
(But according to Kevin, he didn't "technically" pass out...he just "transferred his energy to me" LMAO) Yea. We'll go with that.
Kevin, me, & my IPs before induction
I did finally get the epi done and was a happy camper for a little while, at least. I started feeling some pressure at about 6:00am and asked the nurse to check me and I was 7cm! The pressure was staying pretty constant, so the nurse checked me again around 6:30am and I was fully dilated! The Dr came in, set up the bed, and I started pushing! Baby L was born shortly thereafter at 6:47am!

I honestly can't even describe the feelings or emotions in the room. It was just so amazing. All these months I've imagined what it might be like to see my IPs become parents and even my imagination couldn't have pictured such a moment. It was euphoric; almost like an out of body experience. All I cared about at that moment was making sure the baby was okay. With him being 3 weeks early I just wanted to hear that cry for reassurance.
It seemed like forever, even though it was only a few seconds, but we heard him let out a cry and it was the best sound you could have heard.
Then everyone else began to cry. (tears of joy, of course)
I ♥ my IPs faces in this pic. So much love for their son already.
Even with being early, Baby L was doing well from the start. He never had to visit the NICU and was able to stay in the room with his mommy & daddy through the entire hospital stay! I was able to pump colostrum for him and his mommy was able to induce lactation so that she can breastfeed. So awesome!
10.19.2011; 6:47am
4lbs 9oz; 17.5in
Smiling already ♥☺
As for me, I'm feeling good. Maybe the labor gods were on my side, because I couldn't have asked for an easier labor or recovery. Besides having a headache and sore boobs, I'm virtually pain free. ☺It feels weird not to be pregnant anymore, I just realized that I can now sleep on my stomach again! And I'm definitely not looking forward to doing P90X again...sigh....but I know I have to get back in shape. I am, however, ready for a margarita!! ☺
The guys being silly
I got to go home on Friday and Baby L and his parents went home yesterday (on his mommy's birthday! ♥) He passed all of his testing and is feeding very well; he won't be small for very long! Baby L has beat the odds from the beginning. He truly is a miracle!
Although this pregnancy didn't go quite as expected, I wouldn't change a thing. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to help create a family for M&M and in the process, I believe that we all became family too. My family and I have so much love for them and I know that our relationship doesn't stop just because the baby was born, it will continue to grow and get even better.
Proud parents w/ Baby L, grandparents, me & hubby
I'll leave you with a few more of my favorite pics from our special day. Thank you all for following along with me during this journey, through all of the ups and downs. A lot of times your comments are what got me through some tough days while I was on bedrest. I'm forever thankful for all of the friendships that have been formed by way of this blog. I didn't know when I started this journal just how much all of you would become a part of my everyday life and how invested I'd become in your journeys as well. THANK YOU! ♥♥♥
My girls love how soft his skin is, lol

36 weeks!!!!!!

Shhhh! y'all hear that? It's me singing "Hallelujah"! Nevermind that my pitch is off and voice is cracking, just sing along with me! 'CAUSE I'M OFF OF BEDREST!!! 64 Days of bedrest...that's 1,536 hours...or 92,160 minutes...or...well, you get it. Now, I know I'm not the World record holder for amount of time on bedrest, but that's a pretty long damn time and not that I actually have anything else better to do than to lie around, but it's just nice to know that if I wanted to I could go to the store or visit a friend, ya know?
Well, I did actually get to do something today. It was "Muffins with Mom" day at Kailey's school, so this morning Kourtlyn and I got to have muffins and juice with Kailey, yay! ☺♥
Here we are (My puffy face and all)...and nevermind that evil lookin' kid in the background, lol.
Since my post last week we've had some "excitement"...well, I wouldn't really call it excitement because to me that means fun, and this was by no means fun! On Sunday I woke up with a really puffy face and hands, along with a headache, I could barely bend my fingers to make a fist. So I called my Dr. to see if I needed to do anything and he told me to go straight to L&D. That caught me off guard, to say the least. His exact words were "go to L&D, you are showing signs of pre-eclampsia." Scary. Kevin & the girls were still asleep, so I called my mom and she came to pick me up. In L&D my BP was elevated (not good), so they drew labs and checked for protein in my urine (sorry if TMI). All the labs came back normal, thank goodness, my BP was still a little high, but they let me go home.  (Well, they let me go home with a 24hr urine collection bucket, yay)
I followed up with my Dr the next day (at this point I was feeling like $#!+) and my BP was still high. So after the longest appointment ever, which consisted of about 90% WAITING (appt was @ 9:45am, left ofc @ 1:30pm), I was wheeled back down to L&D to have my BP monitored and labs drawn again! Everything came back normal again and my BP was finally back down. On the flip side, I was still feeling like caca because apparently I had contracted a stomach virus from my dear ol' hubby!
So after 3 days of feeling like I was having crack withdrawals, I'm finally feeling normal. Well, as normal as an 8 1/2 month pregnant person can feel. (And btw, no, I have no experience going thru drug withdrawals, but I've seen it on TV ((lol)) and I'm tellin' ya, that's what I looked like, no joke)
My Dr wants to see me twice a week now though, just to keep an eye on my BP, so I have another appointment tomorrow.

So here we are at 36 weeks!! I can't believe we're so close now!!! Now I'm gettin' nervous! :\

35 weeks!

Day 57 of bedrest, but I'm almost to the promise land! Yay! ☺
My appointment on Monday went was actually pretty boring (which we like). Baby is about 4lbs 12oz, HR was 163 and everything is lookin' good. I don't go back until the 18th (1 day short of 37 wks).
**The best news** → NO MORE BEDREST @ 36 WEEKS!! Only 1 more week left, yaaaaaaayyyy!!!
I think my daughters are especially happy about this simply because they have decided that they want to dress me up for Halloween and drag me out to Trick or Treat with them...and guess what their bright costume "theme" idea is...Bumblebees. Yea. 2 seriously cute bumblebees and one immensely overgrown "Queen Bee". Joy. I can't promise that I'll share pictures of that.

Here's the scoop on the baby this week:
From now on, baby's growth is mostly in the plumping up department -- though he won't get much longer, he'll put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth. His hearing is totally developed (tip: baby responds best to higher pitches), and his testes have probably completed their descent.

I'm starting to get kinda nervous now...eeek! I can't believe it's almost time! As huge as I feel and as much as I hate wobbling to get where I'm going, I'm sure I'll actually miss being pregnant once it's all said and done.
I don't really have anything else to report, so I'll leave ya with my 35 week belly pic. TTYL!

The Blob

Well people....I've hit that point. You know, the point in pregnancy where you feel like a big ol' hands are swollen, feet are swollen, face is ....well, you get my point. Every friggin' thing is enlarged...I mean seriously, how many cup sizes can one girl's boobs go up? (Sorry if it's TMI for ya, but I'm tryna keep it real ☺) And it seems like this all just happened over night, ugh! I'm totally uncomfortable and feel like a damn whale!
Listen, I know I'm whinning and yes, I knew what I was getting into, but I'm allowed to whine sometimes and guess what? You get to listen to it! Everything can't be butterflies and rainbows all the time.☺ I'm a few days shy of 35 weeks (yay!), but I wish I could just fast forward to 39! Don't get me wrong, I'm totally not ready for this little guy to come just yet, but I am ready to feel like a normal person again. I'm sure I'll actually miss being pregnant once Baby L is born, but right now, not so much.

Anywho, I guess I just wanted to vent a little...all better now, lol. ☺ Only about 31 days until the big arrival!! I better cherish it, since it will more than likely be the last time I'm preggo. :(

34 weeks!!

Day 50 of bedrest...or maybe I should say day 49 since I did get a "1 day pass" from my Dr so that I could attend my IP's baby shower. Boy, was that appreciated! I had so much fun!! It was one of the most unique baby shower's I've ever been to; it was tailgate themed and was on a boat! More like a party than a lame "wrap toilet paper around the preggo person" shower, lol. I enjoyed getting out of the house, but I most enjoyed getting to meet my IP's friends; everyone was sooo nice and you could tell that they were all genuinely happy for M&M. I can't even tell you how many tears of happiness were shed, lol. (Especially when my IM got to feel Baby L kick for the 1st time!) I could talk about it for days, but I think you catch my drift. It was fun. ☺
Here's a group shot of us all inside the boat:
(P.S. Thanks mom for being my chauffeur! ☺)

On another note, my Dr appointment on Monday went very well! Cervix measured 3.8, no funneling, baby is still head down and weighing about 4lbs 7oz. And the Dr informed me that it was my last cervical check, yay!! I kinda griped about him putting me on bedrest when all of my appointments have been okay, but he said "better safe than sorry", so I guess I can't argue with him on that. He still wants me to stay on bedrest, but now I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel since he said he'll take me off @ 36 weeks. So the countdown begins! ☺ The funny thing is that I'm not even sure what I'll do when I do get off of bedrest cuz it's not like I'm going back to work for 3 weeks, just to be off for another 6. I'll probably still lay around the house, but hey, it's the principle of the thing!

Here's the scoop on the baby this week:
Baby's now the size of a honeydew!

He can recognize and react to simple songs. In fact, he will recognize frequently sung tunes after birth and probably find them soothing. (Yay! Maybe Baby L will recognize the songs that he hears Mommy & Daddy sing on the Lullabelly!) Less cute news: He now urinates about one pint per day. Get the diapers ready!

Here's my 34 week belly pic! *Only 5 more of these to go!* My IPs just left for their well deserved "babymoon" this morning, so Baby L has no choice but to stay put!
Talk to you all next week!

33 weeks!!

6 weeks to go!! (Day 43 of bedrest)
Yesterday's appointment went well. Cervix was 2.9, which is good; no funneling and baby is still head down, yay! My weight was up 4 lbs from 2 weeks ago, ugh! But I'm gonna blame some of that on Baby L (and not the blueberry muffins my hubby stocked me up on) ☺Baby L is weighing about 4lbs 4ozs! Any guesses on how much you think he'll weigh when he's born? Let's see...2 weeks ago he was at 3.1, so he gained 1.3 in 2 weeks. If he keeps that up he should be about 8lbs 3oz when he's born, so that's my guess, lol. Dang, that's a big ol' baby!

Guess what? No, I'm not off of bedrest, don't get too excited. BUT my Dr did say that he will allow me to go to my IP's baby shower!! You have no idea how excited I am about that! It's like I got a "get out of jail free" card! (as Tonya would say ☺) It's this Saturday and I cannot wait! My IPs live a few hours away, so my mom is gonna drive me there and I'll just be chillaxin with my seat back on the passenger side. ☺ I'll definitely tell you guys all about it when I get back!

Anywho, here's the scoop on the baby this week:
This week baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look (thank goodness ☺) and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.--- but not this baby, cuz he's gonna be perfect ♥) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Hey! On a totally seperate note, do you like the new background and pics on the blog? No, really, do you?  I'm not sure if I'm a fan of it yet or not...
But I am happy that I can now share pics of my IPs!!

Aren't they so cute!!?! ☺♥ And Baby L is gonna make a perfect addition to their family!

I'll holla at y'all next week, peeps! TTYL!

32 weeks!

Day 36 of bedrest and we're getting closer! *Only* 49 more days, ugh! But seriously, can someone spring me outta this joint?? I'm so over it! Don't get me wrong, I know this is the best thing for Baby L, but geez louise I'm tired of feeling so isolated from the world. Oh and by the way, to people that call or text me....please don't ask me "what are you doing?" What the hell do you think I'm doing, having a friggin' keg party?! I'm in the bed, most likely in the same spot that you left me in 2 weeks ago and probably playing 'Words with Friends'. (Sorry for bitching, it's just one of those days)

*PS* Is there such a thing as a mobile pedicure service? If so, please send it my way. Thanks.

So anyway, enough of that. We're 32 weeks today (yay!) and here's what's going on with Baby L this week:

By now, baby weighs about 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in the uterus. I'm gaining about a pound a week (noooo!) and roughly half of that goes right to the baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

Other than being bored, I'm doing well and haven't been having any contractions, so yay! I'll update again after my appointment next week. Maybe I won't be so grumpy, but don't bet on it. :) TTYL!

Look what I got!

Thanks to my dear surro friend, Whitney!! It's an authentic apple kringle from WI!

I literally recieved it about 15 minutes ago and I'm restraining myself from eating ALL of it right now lol. Soooooo good!
Definitely the highlight of my day today, lol. :)

Thanks Whit!

31 weeks!

Another week down! 8 more to go...I tried to figure out a way to make it seem like it's not *that* much longer, like instead of saying 8 more weeks, maybe only 56 days? Or only 2 months? Yea...but it's still a long a** time to be on bedrest, lol. Oh well, each day that passes is one more day that the baby gets to grow stronger and that's what matters.
My appointment yesterday went well. My cervix measured 2.8, which is shorter than 2 weeks ago, but still longer than when I was first placed on bedrest so I'm happy with that. The Dr didn't seem to be concerned either; as long as it stays above 2.5 there's less of a chance of pre-term labor.
Baby L is now weighing approximately 3 lbs 1oz, up 9ozs from 2 weeks ago! And guess what? He turned head down! YAY! Now he just needs to stay like that! I can tell he's getting bigger from the kicks and punches he's giving me, they're not so small anymore, lol.
As for me, I'm still bored. :) I mean, there's only so much TV watching and magazine reading a person can do! On Netflix I got addicted to the show 'Weeds' but it stopped at the end of season 5 and now I'm scouring the internet to find seasons 6 and 7 to watch! (Anyone know where I can illegally watch TV shows online? :) ) By the way Netflix, get up to date! Seriously. So frustrating. I also have come to enjoy 'Mad Men', but my husband has gotten hooked on it too and doesn't want me to watch it without him, lol, so I'm stalled out on episode 13 for least all the episodes are available for this one, but it doesn't come back on the air until "early 2012" according to AMC's website! (Yes, I look these things's not like I have anything else to do) So...any show suggestions once I get done with Mad Men? :) I heard Dexter might be a good one...
Anywho, my next appointment is on Sept. 20th and hopefully all will be well at that one too. I'll leave ya with my 31 week pic. TTYL peeps!

30 weeks...

...and day 22 of bedrest! Everything's going well and I *might* actually be getting used to this whole bedrest thing...might. Anywho, enough about me, here's what's happening with the baby this week:

Baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face.

He's definitely growing and moving all the time. Hopefully some of that movement has been him flipping around to the right position! I know he doesn't like it when I monitor, he constantly moves as soon as I put it on, lol.
Well, nothing else to report. Pretty boring this past week, but hopefully I'll have more good news for you after my next appointment on the 6th.

29 weeks!

We've made it to 29 weeks! Not that I doubted we would, but each day is definitely a blessing. I'm on day 15 of bedrest and it still sucks, but I guess I'm getting used to it. I'm just glad that at least I get to get out of the house for a few minutes each day to take my girls to school.
My home contraction monitoring has been going very well, I've only had a total of 3 contractions (1 on one day and 2 on another) so I'm well within the "normal" threshold.
I really don't have much else to report unless you'd like to hear all about what's been happening on my favorite channel, Investigation Discovery...yea, I didn't think so.

Here's what's going on with Baby L this week:
Baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in baby's hardening skeleton each day.

No me gusta leche! But I have been eating yogurt, so yay! :-)
TTYL peeps!

My babies!
Today started off a little was the first day of school and I wasn't able to take my Princesses....BUT the day improved after my appointment!
No, I'm not off of bedrest (I've given up on that happening), but it was nothing but good news today. Here's a quick recap of the appointment:

* Cervical length: 3.84!! (started at 2.7 only 2 weeks ago)
* No funneling
* Baby L is getting big, weighing 2 lbs 8 oz!
* My weight is up 1.4 lbs from last week...I'd like to blame that on the yummy lunch my granny made for me before I left :-)

My Dr was very pleased with everything he saw and said I've been a "good girl" :-) I gotta tell ya, it feels good to see results...when you're on bedrest (and you have all the time in the world) you start wondering if it's really making a difference or just driving you crazy. I'll admit though, I did try to pout my way out of bedrest today. I begged, pleaded, batted my lashes...nothing! Dammit! Ah well, it was worth a try, right? He did say that I can at least take my girls to school now (since it's super close to home) as long as I'm not getting out and walking them in, so that was just icing on the cake! Seriously, you start appreciating all the little things once it's all taken away from you.
It's still "bed, bath, couch", but with a little more freedom. So even though I won't be running a marathon anytime soon, I'll take what I can get. (Yea, like I'd run a marathon anyway, ha!)
I also don't have to go back for my next appointment until week after next, Sept 6th. *Fingers crossed for more good news*
And one last thing...send some baby turning vibes my way. Baby L has now decided that he wants to be breach! (Unacceptable mister, I don't do c-sections!) :-)
That's all for now, TTYL!

It's official!

We're in the 3rd trimester now, 28 weeks today! Woohoo!

What's going on with baby this week:
By this week, baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

According to BabyCenter, most women gain about 11lbs during the 3rd trimester...good Lord, I hope not! I've already gained 20 total and I'm sure being on bedrest only helps pack on even more. Blah!

Anywho, nothing else to report for now. I'm just chilaxin' in the bed :-) I go back to the Dr. next Monday the 22nd, so I'll update then! TTYL.

P.S. I would like to say thank you to Jesse for sending me a wonderful "bedrest care package" the other day. It was such a nice surprise to receive! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
